Candidate Statement
We face complex challenges in the years to come. We will need the next generation to be educated, empowered and capable of solving them. That requires improving our district’s graduation rate, programs for special education, investing in sports and extracurricular activities that benefit youth and strengthen our community. I believe in the power of public education and I want to help guide our schools to make a positive impact in our community. My wife, Alexandra, and I are both products of our schools – from Vaca Pena to Will C. Wood and Solano Community College. We love the family feeling of this community and are raising our children here – both students in VUSD. My background as a small business owner, husband, father and involved parent will serve the district well, adding an important perspective on budgeting, what’s working and what needs improvement. With your support and working together, we’ll do what’s best for students, and by extension what’s best for teachers and staff. I’d be honored to have your vote.
Please call me at 707-592-1272 or email me at ElectMikeMartin@gmail.com – I’d love to talk with you about how we can do what’s best for our kids.
